Technical Luxury for a Casual Sunday
A Sunday well spent, brings a week of content. This is a quote that I go by for my Sundays. After a week full of different activities from work, social events and travelling back and forth to home and work. You want the last day of the week for yourself and your family, not doing much just hanging out, before a new week starts. Honestly if I’m not going to an event, doing a photo-shoot, meeting with clients or just going out for the night. You can catch me on my lap top or reading a book in some joggers, t-shirt and some kicks to show how comfortable I am. It’s all about being versatile and comfortable. We need days where our souls and minds can just chill and be stress free, for at least one day.
How to be Casual on a Sunday:
Being casual on a Sunday, doesn’t mean grabbing your old pair of sweatpants and one of your old favorite shirts. You can still be stylish in your lounge wear. Take these blue Bidwell trousers from Kit and Ace that are very versatile in style. You can wear these trousers throughout the week for almost any casual setting. Also with a versatile style they are produced with a wrinkle resistant fabric called Kaymace, kaymace has 5% elastane for comfort day and night. So you can really head to a business meeting in the morning and also play a pickup game of basketball for lunch all in the same trouser. I paired my Bidwell trousers with my Tag Team Tee from Kit and Ace. I love doing the layered look but could look to bulky with wearing too many shirts underneath. Made with stretch, cashmere and adding the contrast sleeves; made this tee one of my favorites to wear.
For a third piece I went ahead and threw on my lightweight Denman Button Up from Kit and Ace. Third pieces are always optional especially in June. But I enjoy wearing a third piece and have the option to wrap it around my waist if need be. The heather sky color works well in the sun because it doesn’t attract so much heat and again it’s a lightweight fabric with 10% cashmere.
Who doesn’t enjoy a comfortable pair of kicks or sneakers or tennis shoes? I know I definitely do, growing up in the sneaker head era. Kicks are a major part of who you are; either you rocked Nike, New Balance, Adidas, Reeboks or Puma’s. So anything else was a big NO! NO!. Until a few years back when clothing and sneaker designer Ronnie Fieg of Kith NYC, started collaborating with Asics and everyone took notice to them. My interest in Asics grew as I seen more and more collaborations between the two companies. I purchased my first pair of Asics Gel Saga and never looked back. My feet never felt so comfortable before, so I bought my second pair after that. Asics gel saga came out in 1990 and were made for the long distant runner but became popular by the urban culture to rock casually. What made these Gel Saga so comfortable; were how easy they seem to break into, how they surrounded your feet with cushioning and your feet just felt so relaxed. After a long day of walking, purchase a pair of Asic Gel Saga and your feet will thank you.
