How to Style a Denim Jacket
There are a few esstentials that all guys should have; starting with your first business suit, an all purpose sport coat, dress shirts (white and blue), dark and white light jeans, chinos, shoes and one item that can be worn either dressed up or down a denim jacket or denim shirt. In this blog post, we will be focusing on how to style your favorite denim jacket.
One thing that I enjoy stressing on FromNewYorktoTexas, is style. Style is personal, having your own personal style gives you the confidence to take on the world and who wouldn’t want to take on the world? Jean jackets can be worn after work with your dress pants, dress shirt, tie and dress shoes or worn for a cool casual New York look.
Go to tailor and they will drill in you that fit is everything. Same thing goes for your jean jacket, the jacket should fit around your waist. If it’s too short, it will look a little feminine and too long will look like an untuck shirt. Jean jackets should fit similiar to your favorite sports coat and compliment your physique.
Pairing your denim jacket should be a solid style comboinaton. Earlier in the post, I mentioned you can pair your jean jacket with almost anything excluding your formal wear. Don’t match your denim jacket with your jeans, that look is perfected by the Candians. Instead compliment your jean jacket by pairing it with an off color i.e: darker wash jean jacket with light jeans or a light jean jacket with dark jeans as shown in photo.
Like any fit, your accessories can make or break your look. I personally enjoy the “less is more” look, it works for me. Jean jackets can give you an edgy feel, so wearing your sunglasses, watch, bracalets and rings can take your look to the next level.
What’s cleaner than rocking a white t-shirt on a nice spring or hot summer day? Nothing!
You can’t go wrong with dressing up your jean jacket with some loafers, double monks or wing tips. Dressing down your jean jacket and pairing it with some Chelsea boots or trainers can keep you on trend.
Now that you have this wealth of knowledge on styling your jean jacket, go out and start rocking it with confidence. Whether it’s worn after work for a happy hour or for your favorite summer festival, make sure you have the key additional items to compliment your jean jacket fits.
