Festival season is cool, easy and stylish at the same time
It’s summer time and that means a few things; pool parties, barbecues, beaches, water parks, and music festivals. With some of the best music festivals starting as early as May, summer is when they really start coming together. If you’re from California, you would say Coachella is the best music festival hands down. But you can’t forget about SXSW (South by South West) and Austin City Limits in Austin, Burning Man and Electric Daisy Carnival in Nevada, AFROPUNK FEST in Brooklyn or Free Press Summer Fest in Houston.
Attending any type of festivals requires the right type of clothes. Festival style is cool, easy and stylish at the same time, depending on the person. You can go all out and be camera ready or just cool and laid back and enjoy the performers. For this blog post, Houston Chronicle and FromNewYorktoTexas collaborated to show readers what to wear for 2017 music festival season.
Bringing friends or great people to an outing is always a win. Yes, you can attend music festivals alone but that takes away from the experience.
Hats are great for two things, blocking your eyes from the sun and repping your city and I’m always down to rep my city…. “Shit, I made the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can” (Jay-Z Voice).
Festival season is cool, easy and stylish. Fashion tip; wearing a white shirt won’t attract the heat and will keep you cool throughout your day. A great pair of glasses can block the sun and the haters at the same time, so invest in a quality pair of sunglasses. I would say, wearing shorts and not jeans when it’s 100 degrees outside is smart. Be smart!
Be smart and comfortable and if you can draw on your sneakers. They will help you stand out from the masses.
It’s always good to think ahead, bringing a sweater or jacket can be a smart decision. You never know when it can rain, be cold or when you’ll need to put your jacket around a cute girl.
