Styling Model Patrick Donahue in Weekend Offender two striped tipped polo
Everyone uses the word stylist loosely, not everyone can be a stylist and I am for certain not calling myself one either. Being in the fashion world as a journalist; I speak on confidence, fit, versatile items and trends. Stylist speaks on the same topics, but the difference between them and myself is I truly enjoy the writing aspect of it. Being honest, one of my biggest dreams is to style or be the Creative Director for a major photo shoot.
A few things to consider when styling someone else besides yourself is fabrics, garment construction, trends, who you’re styling, and fit. Fit to me will be at the top of the list, why do you ask? Because without the proper fit, nothing will look good on whatever body frame you have.
I recently had the pleasure of working with Weekend Offender and Model Patrick Donahue for this blog post. If you haven’t heard of Weekend Offenders, let me be the first to introduce you. Founded in 2004 by creative duo Sam Jones and Rhydian Powell had different backgrounds. Sams background was an established clothing store owner and agent, while Rhydian had a background in graphic design. With a huge influence in music, film, and fun, Weekend Offenders designs are innovative, clever, quirkiness, vibrant and for everyone.
I styled Model Patrick Donahue in the 100% cotton Two Striped Polo, shorts, and the ever so classic Adidas Stan Smiths. I wanted to keep the look casual, something where if you want to attend a cool beach party or a night out with some friends; you can be cool, comfortable and stylish. Playing with summer colors can be tricky, but the orange shirt and red shorts pair well together; especially for summer and leading into fall.
