Styled in Halfwits Pro Short Sleeve Henley
Similar to our Styling in Weekend Offender post where we styled a model in a two striped polo. Halfwits has sent FromNewYorktoTexas one of their popular Henleys to style and Interview/review. With a tag line like STUPID. GOOD. FUN and a name like Halfwits, two things come to mind 1. they don’t take themselves too seriously and 2. they seem like they enjoy life and everything life has to offer. Based in Toronto, CA Halfwits is a contemporary lifestyle brand who draws inspiration from hip hop, skateboard, and punk.
With a passion and potential to become creators, thinkers, doers, and owners. The motto ‘Half Wit, Half Heart’ came about to always push the culture forward, and to keep strong family ties similar to a tradition in always feeding the hunger for an era of owners, and passing down information and resources from generation to generation, always paying it forward.
Styling takes a lot of work and we asked Model Wili B to review Halfwits The Pros White Henley.
Interview/Review – The Pros Short Sleeve Henley with Model Wili B:
David R – Wili thank you for being part of this article and working with Halfwits. First question, what is style to you?
Wili B – Thank you for this opportunity; I definitely appreciate FromNewYorktoTexas and what it has to offer in the education of style. Style to me is putting your own spin on things and not looking like everyone else. I was never big on fashion or style until I got older and started understanding quality over quantity.
David R – With summer almost over, what were some of your go to summer essentials?
Wili B – Bro! wasn’t it just June? Now it’s almost September, crazy! But summer essentials for me are t-shirts, shorts, sunglasses, and a new watch for Fathers Day. I kept it really low key this summer.
David R – You mentioned Fathers Day, what do you teach your kids about style?
Wili B – Kids learn quick, they’re like sponges. But you teach them to be themselves no matter what. Having style is a representation of yourself and how you feel. So if you want to wear bright colors, do it or if you want to clean and classic, go for it. As long as your happy with who you are, nobody can’t tell you anything.
David R – You mentioned t-shirts for your summer essentials and henleys are a must have in men’s fashion from short sleeve to long sleeve. Why is that?
Wili B – Honestly, henleys are just comfortable and they go with everything for any occasion. You can dress up a Henley with sportscoat or throw on some swim shorts and be cool.
David R – There were a few details that I truly enjoyed from the Halfwits Henley, can you tell me what you thought about it?
Wili B – The first thing I noticed was the cotton, even though it is 100% cotton felt like butter. I loved how it felt once I put the Henley on and then the length of the Henley was one feature I really really liked. It was more contemporary, especially with the black trimming on the bottom of the shirt. I also liked how the sleeves hugged my arms. Most shirts don’t do that and could look too tight, which I don’t like.
David R – This could be a random question, but do you have a favorite quote?
Wili B – Not a weird question at all, my favorite quote is from Author Charles Hix. “Looking good isn’t self-importance; it’s self-respect.” Which means when you respect youself, you feel it and you’ll dress the part. It’s all about who you are as a person and your self-confidence.
