Coasting down the Pacific Coast in Santa Monica, California
Driving down the State Route 1 runs through the Pacific Coastline of California. The Route 1 can take you from San Francisco to San Diego or vice versa. While driving the coastline, you’ll pass some amazing cities like San Jose, Santa Cruz, Big Sur, Ventura, Malibu, Santa Monica, Los Angeles, and Long Beach. Now, I personally didn’t drive down to these cities. The first day I got to Los Angeles my cousin and I drove the coastline to Pepperdine University in the Malibu district of California at night; which was still an incredible experience.
My favorite beach and only beach that I visit when traveling to Los Angeles is the Santa Monica Beach. It’s the first beach I visited back in 2007 and to me Santa Monica represents California. Visitors can surf, play chess, do gymnastics, workout, go on a stand-up paddle boat ride, and of course swim or go on a bike ride. I defintley wanted to go swimming until I put my feet in the ocean and the water was freezing. Bike riding was next on my agenda. I took a two hour bike ride down the coastline; which was beautiful. I never witnessed a landscape or city so beautiful before, and honestly, I didn’t want to leave and go back to reality.
Beach style is always comfortable; the less the better. Get a great pair of swim shorts, a polo/t-shirt, and some white sneakers for a fun stylish day at the beach.
