Botanist Gin Interactive Cocktail Workshop at Art Basel
Happy New Year everyone, I hope 2018 brings you much success in all your ventures.
I recently had the opportunity to close out 2017 with crossing off a major goal of mine. Since 2015, I wanted to attend Art Basel in Miami Beach and finally got my opportunity. With over 77,000 visitors Art Basel has three shows annually in Hong Kong, Miami Beach, FL, and Switzerland.
From 1970-2017 Art Basel has been a place for private collectors, directors, museums curators and everyone else to come together for the love of art. Another thing that has been really popular are the events during Art Basel. Every company, artist, influencer, public figure and musician attending is enjoying special invite-only events. It’s really a huge party that doesn’t end until you call it quits. My journey to Art Basel started on Thursday, December 7th and ended Monday, December 11th and once I got off the plane and got to my Airbnb, I was on go mode.
I was invited out by Botanist Gin to participate in an interactive cocktail workshop where guest had the opportunity to create custom Miami cocktails and enjoy hors d’ oeuvres curated by Miami Chef Phil Bryant. The Botanist Gin was very smooth and crisp tasting and the three drinks on the menu paired well for the evening.
Drink of Choice:
The drink menu consisted of a Botanist Gin version of a mojito called the P&B&T (The Botanist Gin, Fresh Peppermint leaves, and tonic water) which was very refreshing and very Miami. Drink #2 was Date of Destiny (The Botanist Gin, Luxardo Bitter, Sweet Vermouth, Date Lady date Syrup, and Homemade bitters). Probably my favorite was the 20th Century Man (The Botanist Gin, Lillet Blanc, Fresh Lemon Juice, White Cream de Cacao, Simple Syrup, and Homemade Cacao Bitters), honestly, I never had a drink like this before and it blew my mind how good/great it was.
With intense aroma, flavor, rich and mellow taste, The Botanist features citrus nodes that excite the palate and inspire adventure.
