Reading books can always be a challenge when it comes to time, work, career, and life. At times if we’re not ordered to read for the book club or school then honestly we won’t pick up a book to read and no magazines don’t count.
I myself was never a book reader until I got to a certain age and wanted to figure out life and my purpose. I was always interested in “self-help” books where the author would motivate or share their stores on how they got from point A to point Z.
The FromNewYorktoTexas team and I put together our top 10 books to read in 2019. A few of the books are our personal favorites and some are inspiring books for our futures. We all want a better life and it starts with us and how we inspire others.

EntreLeadership – If you haven’t heard of this guy his name is Dave Ramesy, some would say he is the Finance king, with youtube shows, podcast, lectures he touches all bases on finances and future planning. I was introduced to Dave Ramesy with Financial Peace University and quickly started looking up his other books and came across EntreLeadership. EntreLeadership is a one-stop shop to building and growing your business. I personally purchased this book because I believed in Dave Ramesy, but also, I was new and still am new to building my businesses and building myself as a leader.

The Power of Now – Stress, anxiety, depression and all types of illnesses harm ourselves and our society and communities around us. Eckhart Tolle created The Power of Now as a day to day guide to leave our analytical mind and the false created self of ego behind by using spiritual traditions.
Relentless – One-day watching Youtube stumbled upon a series called Valuetainment and the featured guest was Tim. Grover. I knew of Tim because of photos training Michael Jordan and a few other athletes but never knew he wrote a book. So after watching the series, I was motivated to research his book.
One of my favorite words in being an entrepreneur is being relentless towards your goals and obstacles in your way. No one should come in your way of those things that you want to accomplish. While doing my research I realized that Tim Grover worked with winners, champions and I definitely wanted to read the book that trained the champions.
Being an entrepreneur or business owner is having a hungry obsession to see your dreams and goals through the end no matter the timeline or what people say. You stick to your path and journey, through the ups and downs and you keep moving forward being relentless.
The Art of Dealing with People – Guess what, people are everywhere and at times you always have to interact with them. If you’re at a coffee shop, watching a movie, at home, on vacation, and in business; they are everywhere. Les Giblin gives insight on how to handle the human ego, making others feel good about themselves, listening, convincing others and achieving your goals.
Believe in Yourself – First step before working on finances, looking for a quantum leap, or even taking action on your goals is believing in yourself; believing that you can accomplish anything your put your mind towards despite the heartache it will endure. Conquering personal fear and self-doubt all starts with believing in yourself and your abilities.
